Initiation of Payment for Parking at Little Harbor

The South Bay Community Development District (CDD) has made the decision to charge parking charges at CDD-owned parking lots for vehicles owned by individuals who do not pay the South Bay CDD assessment. Parking charges will begin to be accessed on March 4, 2023.  Patrons using the Sunset Grill will have their parking validated at the restaurant if their purchase is $20.00 or more.  It is important to emphasize that the reason for this change is to ensure that the community's facilities are properly maintained and improved.

The CDD is responsible for maintaining and improving infrastructure at Little Harbor including the beach that the public has access to.  These facilities require ongoing maintenance, which can be expensive. Without adequate funding, these facilities can fall into disrepair, negatively impacting  quality of life.

By charging for parking for those who do not pay the South Bay CDD assessment this helps ensure that everyone who uses the community's facilities contributes to their upkeep and maintenance. This is a fair and sustainable way to distribute the financial burden of maintaining these resources.

It is important to note that the parking charges will be reasonable and in line with what is charged in neighboring communities. The cost for parking is: $3 per hour Monday through Thursday with a maximum of $18 per day and $5 per hour Friday through Sunday and Holidays with a maximum of $25 per day.  The CDD understands that this change may be inconvenient for some residents and visitors, but it is necessary to ensure that the community's resources are being used fairly and sustainably.
